2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Roadster, finished in Le Mans Red with a Sand and black Designo Exclusive leather interior. Unmodified, this SLS AMG GT Roadster was ordered with over $15,000 of optional equipment including a special Le Mans Red paint color, carbon fiber side mirror covers, a Designo Exclusive two-tone leather interior, carbon fiber interior trim, a Bang & Olufsen 1,000 watt sound system, and an indoor car cover. The seller notes that the car had an original MSRP of over $223,000.Produced from 2010 to 2014 in coupe and roadster body styles, the "C197/R197" SLS AMG was inspired by the "W198" 300SL from the 1950s and was the successor to the "C199/R199" SLR McLaren. It was the first car built entirely by AMG and was assembled largely by hand.The SLS AMG GT was released for the 2013 model year and offered 20 more horsepower than the SLS AMG, propelling the car from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. It features an aluminum space frame and body panels, and it came equipped with a carbon fiber driveshaft, AMG's adaptive suspension, high-performance brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear aluminum calipers painted in red, 19 and 20-inch staggered-width alloy wheels, speed-sensitive power steering, and a retractable rear wing that also acted as an airbrake when braking. This SLS AMG was reviewed by Doug DeMuro on his main channel to coincide with this auction; the video is included below.Power comes from a hand-built "M159" 6.2-liter V8, which produces 583 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. The front-mid-mounted engine spins the rear wheels via a 7-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential.
