2004 Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI, finished in Offroad Gray Metallic with a Teak interior. Factory equipment includes center and rear locking differentials, an adjustable air suspension system, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, and parking sensors on both ends. The only modification reported by the seller is a set of BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tires mounted on 20-inch wheels from a newer Touareg.Volkswagen introduced the Touareg, its first modern SUV, for the 2004 model year. Part of the brand's upmarket push, it was related to the original Porsche Cayenne and it was marketed as a true off-roader packed with luxury features; many compared it to the Land Rover Range Rover. It could cross rivers, tow a boat, or cruise on the highway for hours on end. The V10 TDI-powered model was positioned at the top of the Touareg range in the United States, where the mighty W12 engine was never made available.Power comes from a 5.0-liter V10 TDI turbodiesel engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. It spins the four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission and Volkswagen's 4Motion permanent all-wheel-drive system, and it gives the Touareg a pickup-like 7,700-pound towing capacity.
