2001 BMW 740iL, finished in Anthracite Metallic with a gray interior. The vehicle data sheet shown in the gallery notes this long-wheelbase sedan cost $69,560 new (about $107,800 in 2021). It's equipped with fog lights, wood interior trim, heated and power-adjustable front seats, heated rear seats, power-operated rear sunshades, and a navigation system, among other features. The only modification reported by the seller is a set of 18-inch "Style 37" wheels.Sold from 1995 to 2001, the third-generation 7 Series (called "E38" internally) retired as BMW's best-selling flagship sedan to date. Short- and long-wheelbase variants of the 740 model were offered; this is one of the latter. Both were developed primarily with luxury in mind, and the long list of standard and optional features illustrated this approach, but they remained surprisingly agile to drive. Power comes from a 4.4-liter V8, rated at 282 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. Part of the "M62" family of engines, it spins the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission.
