2001 Mercedes-Benz CL500, finished in Desert Silver Metallic with a Java leather interior. Equipment on this CL500 includes the AMG Styling Package — which adds a revised front bumper, side skirts, and rear apron — Distronic adaptive cruise control, a navigation system, heated and ventilated seats with "pulse" massaging feature, Parktronic front and rear parking sensors, power rear sunshade, and more. Modifications are limited to 18-inch wheels from a CL600.A technological highlight of the CL is Active Body Control, an active suspension system that uses hydraulic cylinders at each corner in addition to conventional steel springs and dampers; it features standard and Sport settings.The W215-generation CL coupe was introduced in 2001. Again based on the S-Class sedan, its chassis was more extensively modified than before, and the CL featured unique sheet metal, with its B-pillarless design being a hallmark styling element. For 2001, the CL-Class was offered as the V8 CL500, the AMG-enhanced CL55, and the V12 CL600. Power comes from the "M113" 5.0-liter SOHC 24-valve V8, which produces 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic gearbox, and the factory-stated 0-to-60 mph time is 6.1 seconds.
