It launched the Crown Victoria for 1992 on an evolution of the LTD Crown Victoria's proven body-on-frame construction (called Panther in Ford-speak). V8 power, a spacious cabin, and an uncanny ability to cruise for miles on end characterized the sedan. Private and fleet models were sold until 1997, and the "Crown Vic" spawned Mercury- and Lincoln-badged variants.Power comes from a 4.6-liter (281-cubic-inch) V8, rated at 190 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
