Aimed at competing with the likes of the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG, it borrowed performance parts from other GM performance models such as the Corvette. Before the CTS-V, the last Cadillac with a manual transmission, V8 engine, and rear-wheel drive was available in 1952.Power comes from an "LS2" 6.0-liter V8 engine, rated at 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
