1986 Ford Mustang SVO, finished in Oxford White with a Charcoal interior. This Mustang SVO features the 5-speed manual transmission. Officially, the division was called the Special Vehicle Operations Department, but the public came to know them as simply SVO.Built to take on European competitors, the Mustang SVO incorporated a lighter turbocharged engine as opposed to the larger, heavier V8, allowing engineers to move the engine behind the front axle to enhance chassis balance. Combined with numerous suspension and braking enhancements, Ford engineers turned the Mustang SVO into an entirely different beast than the standard Mustang.Power comes from a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4, rated at 200 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. This Mustang SVO may produce slightly more power due to the modifications, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
