Called "E63" (coupe) and "E64" (convertible) internally, the model features a high-revving V10 engine and sport-tuned suspension shared with the "E60" M5. It revs to an 8,250-rpm redline and is regarded by enthusiasts as one of the most distinctive engines ever put into a BMW. Initially offered only with an SMG automatic transmission, a 6-speed manual was added midway through the 2007 model year and only in the North American market.Power comes from a 5.0-liter V10 engine, rated at 500 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.
