2001 Mercedes-Benz SL500, finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with a body-colored hardtop, a black soft top, and a gray interior. According to the build sheet provided in the gallery, factory equipment includes the AMG Styling Package, 18-inch AMG wheels, xenon headlights, Nappa leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated seats with memory, wood interior trim, and a Bose sound system. Modifications are limited to a phone mount on the dashboard. Mercedes-Benz sold the R129-generation SL from 1990 to 2002, and several visual cues (like the shape of the vents behind the front wheels and the rear lights) identify this SL500 as one of the later models built. It's quicker and sportier to drive than its predecessor, the long-lived R107 model released for the 1972 model year, yet it's far simpler than the R230 roadster introduced in 2003.Power comes from an M113 5.0-liter V8, rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission.
