1986 Toyota MR2, finished in red with a black and gray interior. Substantially modified, this MR2 is powered by a 3SGTE 4-cylinder engine from a 1993 MR2 bolted to a 5-speed manual transmission from a Japanese-spec car. The list of modifications also includes a Garrett Motion GT3076R turbocharger kit, an AEM Electronics engine management system with a dual fuel switch, a high-flow engine oil pump, HKS 264 camshafts, a Plazmaman water-to-air intercooler in the trunk, 1,200-cc fuel injectors, a Precision Turbo & Engine PW46 wastegate, an aftermarket limited-slip differential, AutoMeter Products boost, engine oil pressure, and air-fuel ratio gauges, and a short shifter assembly from a 1993 MR2. More details about the aftermarket parts installed on this car are provided below, and some of the removed factory parts are included in the sale.Toyota's original MR2 arrived in America in 1985 as an alternative to the Bertone X1/9. Small, nimble to drive thanks in part to its mid-mounted engine, and reasonably affordable, the "Mister Two" was immediately well received by enthusiasts; the fact that it offered Toyota reliability was the cherry on top. 1988 brought a supercharged engine that provided a welcome boost in power, though this generation of the MR2 was never turbocharged from the factory, and production ended the following year.Power comes from a 2.1-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The seller states that it develops 440 horsepower when burning pump gas and 527 horsepower when burning MS109 racing fuel, and a dyno run is shown in one of the videos. The engine spins the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
