The "S65" V8 features an 8,400 RPM redline and utilizes individual throttle bodies, double-VANOS variable valve timing, and has a 12.0:1 compression ratio. It was heralded as the lightest V8 in the world when it made its debut in the M3, coming in 33 pounds lighter than the outgoing model's 3.2-liter straight-6.Power comes from the "S65" 4.0-liter V8, rated at 414 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine may be making more power as a result of the modifications, though a dyno sheet is not included. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
