2016 BMW M5 Pure Metal Silver Edition, finished in Pure Metal Silver Metallic with a black Merino leather interior. This M5 is 1 of 50 Pure Metal Silver Edition cars built for the U.S. market. The model features a host of upgrades including an exclusive paint color offered by BMW Individual, an increase of 40 hp and 16 lb-ft of torque over the standard M5, the Competition Package, M carbon ceramic brakes, and the M Driver's Package. Additionally, the M Dynamic Mode of the stability control system was tuned to match the performance upgrades. Other factory features found on the Pure Metal Silver Edition cars include an M Performance exhaust system with carbon bezels, 20-inch alloy wheels, black kidney grilles, Merino leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and aluminum interior trim. This special edition option cost an extra $36,800 over the standard M5 model, and the included build sheet for this M5 indicates that it had an original MSRP of $132,335.Introduced in November 2011, the fifth-generation "F10" BMW M5 represented a vast departure from the previous generation V10-powered "E60." Forced induction and a dual-clutch transmission made their debuts in the M5 lineage with the F10. However, rear-wheel-drive was retained until the debut of the sixth-generation "F90" M5. The F10 is beloved by enthusiasts for its build quality, modern amenities, and tuning potential.Power comes from an "S63" 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which produces 600 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The engine spins the rear wheels via a 7-speed M dual-clutch automatic transmission.
