2006 Maserati GranSport finished in Nero Carbonio Metallic with a black leather interior. Notable features include a full leather interior, including the dashboard and headliner, carbon fiber interior and door trim, aluminum pedals, power-operated heated seats with memory, red brake calipers, and the desirable Skyhook adaptive suspension. Introduced for the 2002 model year, the Coupe was one of the cars that spearheaded Maserati's return to the American market after a decade-long hiatus, and it spawned the sportier GranSport for the 2005 model year. Upgrades included a more powerful engine bolted to a gearbox programmed to deliver quicker shifts, a revised suspension system, a model-specific design characterized by a larger grille, a sport exhaust system, and sport seats for the front passengers. The GranSport model also features a unique bumper, rear diffuser, side sill, and rear spoiler designs.According to Maserati, only 2,640 GranSports were sold globally between 2004 and 2007.Power comes from a Ferrari-derived 4.2-liter V8, which produces 395 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. It drives the rear wheels via a 6-speed F1-style automatic transmission featuring steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles.
