1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata, finished in Mariner Blue with a black interior. This MX-5 is equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission. Substantially modified, this Miata is powered by a further modified 5.0-liter V8 sourced from a Fox Body Mustang GT, and bolted to a Tremec super-duty T5 5-speed manual transmission. Other modifications include a custom-made exhaust system, Monster Miata subframe, a Ford 7.5 rear axle, 15-inch Advanti Racing Storm S1 Wheels, and much more detailed below. The installation of the subframes was done by Monster Miata in 2011, and some service documentation is available in the photo gallery.Factory equipment on this Miata includes a manually-folding soft top, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, more as detailed below.Mazda launched the original MX-5 Miata (called NA internally) for the 1990 model year. Years in the making, it picked up where British and Italian roadsters left off by offering enthusiasts nimble handling and an open-air driving experience at a relatively affordable price. The first Miata quickly attracted a cult following, and demand far exceeded Mazda's initial expectations. Production ended in 1997, and the NA passed the torch to the "NB."Power for this Miata comes from a 5.0-liter Ford V8, rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque in stock form. Due to the modifications, this engine makes more horsepower than stock, however, a dyno reading is not available. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
