It was built on a new aluminum-intensive platform and it inaugurated a thoroughly revised version of the firm's 5.9-liter V12. While it remained a 2+2 grand tourer, the DB9 handled markedly better than its predecessor thanks in part to a 50/50 weight distribution achieved by moving the V12 back in the engine bay and fitting a rear-mounted transaxle.Power for this DB9 comes from a 5.9-liter V12, rated at 449 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque in stock form. Due to the modifications performed to this DB9, it may produce slightly more power, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. It spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
