2001 BMW 740i, finished in Titanium Silver Metallic with a gray interior. This 740i is a short-wheelbase model equipped with the M Sport Package, making it the desirable Sporty Shorty variant.A build sheet is provided in the photo gallery, and in addition to the M Sport package, this E38 is equipped with xenon headlights, a power glass sunroof, wood interior trim, power-adjustable and heated front Contour seats, heated rear seats, a navigation system, and a hi-fi sound system, among other features.Sold from 1995 to 2001, the third-generation 7 Series (called E38 internally) retired as BMW's best-selling flagship sedan to date. Short- and long-wheelbase variants of the 740i model were offered; this is one of the former. Both were developed primarily with luxury in mind, but the optional M Sport Package made this big sedan surprisingly agile.Power for this 740i comes from an "M62TUB44" 4.4-liter V8, rated at 282 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission.
