Product Details

1982 Mazda RX-7, finished in gray with a brown and gray interior. This RX-7's rotary engine was replaced with a 5.7-liter (350-cubic-inch) V8 engine reportedly sourced from a 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and bolted to a 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission. Other modifications reported by the seller include an aftermarket exhaust system, a bigger front sway bar, polyurethane bushings in the suspension system, and 3D-printed trim on the center stack and on the center console. More information about the aftermarket parts installed on this Mazda are provided below.Factory equipment includes a sunroof and power-adjustable door mirrors. While rotary technology fizzled during the 1970s, it lived on in the Mazda range and the original RX-7 released for 1979 is one of the best-known recipients of it. It earned a loyal following by offering enthusiasts engaging handling, a sporty design, and a high-revving twin-rotor engine. Mazda updated the RX-7 in 1981 (series two cars are referred to as "FB") and production ended in 1985, but the nameplate lived on for two additional generations. None were fitted with a V8 from the factory, however.Power comes from a 5.7-liter V8, rated at 275 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque when left stock. It spins the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission.
