Product Details

1994 Mercedes-Benz E500, finished in Smoke Silver with a beige interior. Factory equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated front seats, automatic climate control, and more as listed below.Modifications reported by the selling dealer include a Remus exhaust, a set of 19-inch aftermarket wheels, an aftermarket steering wheel, an aftermarket gear lever, and more, as detailed below. Nicknamed the "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing," the 500E was a high-performance variant of the W124. Mercedes-Benz commissioned Porsche to assist with re-engineering the W124 chassis to fit the 5.0-liter "M119" V8. The widened fender flares made the chassis too big for the W124 assembly line, leading Porsche to step in to help with assembly. The back and forth movement of each 500E chassis between the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche factories for different stages of assembly resulted in an 18 day assembly time. Roughly 1,500 were imported into the United States between 1991 and 1994. Final-year examples, such as this one, were renamed “E500”, as part of Mercedes’ then-new naming nomenclature. Power comes from an “M119” 5.0-liter V8, rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
