The car has included replacement of the clutch (roughly 1,500 miles ago), rear subframe and differential bushings, air conditioning work, fluid changes, and had the wheels refinished.Several "OEM+" modifications have been added to this E39 including facelifted headlights, a facelifted BMW steering wheel, a ZHP weighted-shift knob, and an updated factory navigation system with a Mark III navigation computer and a 16:9 navigation display.Heralded by marque enthusiasts as the best of its breed, the E39-generation M5 arrived in the US for the 2000 model year. It would become the first of many M-cars with a V8, though among the many things that have given the M5 such lasting appeal is the 6-speed Getrag 420G manual gearbox. Power comes from the "S62" 4.9-liter V8, which produces 394 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
