Product Details

1996 GMC Suburban 2500 SLT 4x4, finished in black with a tan interior. This Suburban features a swapped 5.9-liter Cummins 6BT turbodiesel inline-six engine that is equipped with a Snow Performance water/methanol injection system. The engine was pulled from a 1990 Dodge Ram with 11,000 miles on it, and the seller reports that the engine now has around 28,000 miles. Factory equipment includes chrome bumpers, a roof rack, rear barn doors, leather upholstery, power windows, power locks, power-adjustable front seats, front and rear air conditioning, third-row seating, and push-button 4WD selectors.Modifications include the Cummins turbodiesel engine, Snow Performance water/methanol injection, Bilstein shocks, rear suspension airbags, a rear differential cover, trailer brake controller, US Shift Quick 2 transmission controller, an upgraded air conditioning system, and an Alpine audio system. The full list of modifications can be seen below.Introduced for the 1992 model year, the eighth-generation, GMT400-based Suburban was produced until 1999 for the American market. Fitted with a range of capable V8 engines including a turbodiesel variant, these trucks became ubiquitous family haulers as well as one of GM's most successful models of all time.Power comes from a 5.9L inline-six Cummins "6BT" turbodiesel engine rated at 160 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque in stock form. With the correct mix of methanol, Snow Performance claims an additional 75 horsepower can be achieved with the water/methanol injection system. Output is sent to the rear wheels or all four wheels through a 2-speed transfer case and a 4-speed automatic transmission.
