Initially offered only as a hatchback, the model offered enthusiasts a more powerful engine than its predecessor and it stood out from both the Impreza and the standard WRX with a muscular-looking body kit that included flared wheel arches. 2011 brought a mid-cycle update and production ended in 2014. Subaru hasn't released another STI hatch since.Power comes from a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-4 engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when left stock. The modifications could increase those figures, but a dyno sheet is not available. The engine spins the four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
