Still built in Graz, Austria, the off-roader wore an evolutionary exterior design but it was entirely new beneath the sheet metal; the exterior door handles were one of the three components carried over from the old to the new G. Mercedes-Benz notably redesigned the frame and the steering system, and it stuffed more tech features into the cabin, but it kept the three locking differentials. Production continues in 2023.Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
