Reportedly performed by Fort Lauderdale-based South Florida Jeeps, the work included adding a 60-inch cargo box, extended quarter panels, an aluminum roll bar, and a second rear axle, among other modifications. The list of aftermarket parts reported by the seller also includes a RENNtech ECU tune, a QuickSilver axle-back exhaust system, 20-inch Fuel Off-Road wheels, FOX components in the suspension system, carbon fiber flares on the wheel arches, and a starlight headliner.Factory equipment includes running boards, a sunroof, heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats, heated rear seats, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, a navigation system, plus front and rear parking sensors. It was released in 1979 and aimed largely at farmers and adventurers; Beverly Hills wasn't on the company's radar yet. The G's upmarket ascent started when the extensively updated W463 arrived in 1990. It looked a lot like the original G but it gained a longer list of features that made it more comfortable on the pavement and a permanent four-wheel-drive system. Civilian production ended in 2018.Power comes from a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 563 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque when left stock. The seller states that the tune increases horsepower to about 700 but a dyno sheet is not available. Called "M157" internally, the engine spins the six wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission linked to a pair of shift paddles, three locking differentials, and a 2-speed transfer case.
