Its exterior design drew inspiration from the Converj concept unveiled in 2009, and the angular sheet metal covered a plug-in hybrid system related to the Chevrolet Volt's. This four-seater coupe was envisioned as a different kind of Cadillac that would allow the brand to reach new buyers. Sales were lower than expected, and the ELR retired after the 2016 model year.Power comes from a gasoline-electric plug-in hybrid drivetrain, which consists of a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a 16.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The system sends 217 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels via a single-speed transmission.
