Reportedly imported from Japan in May 2022, it’s equipped with a metric instrument cluster and its odometer currently displays about 43,700 kilometers, which represents approximately 27,200 miles.Factory equipment includes 17.5-inch wheels, portal axles, triple locking differentials, a four-wheel steering system, a rear tire inflation system, a 24-volt electrical system, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, and more as listed below. Modifications reported by the seller are limited to a Pioneer Carrozzeria head unit and an extra display on the center console. Like the Hummer H1, the Toyota Mega Cruiser started life as a tough, go-anywhere off-roader designed for military use. Toyota launched a civilian model, called "BXD20" internally, in 1996 and marketed it as its flagship SUV. Buyers got what they paid for: big enough to dwarf a Land Cruiser, the aptly-named Mega Cruiser featured portal axles, locking differentials, a four-wheel steering system, and a cavernous interior. Production ended in 2001 and most historians agree fewer than 150 civilian units were built.Power comes from a 4.1-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine, rated at about 155 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque. Called "15B-FT" internally, it spins the four wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
