The Chevrolet Monte Carlo has a long legacy in racing as one of the winningest cars in NASCAR history. GM made a controversial move with the W Body Monte Carlo switching to a unibody front-wheel-drive layout, but the car has grown a cult following for its unique style, easy tuneability, and reasonable maintenance costs.2000 was the first model year of the sixth-generation Monte Carlo. The Pace Car edition for 2000 was limited to 2,222 cars and featured a unique red and silver two-tone exterior with stylized checkered flag graphics, some unique interior touches, and Tasmanian Devil decals on the quarter panels.Power for this Monte Carlo comes from an "L36" 3.8-liter V6 engine, which produces 200 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. It powers the front wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
