1993 Subaru Impreza WRX, finished in silver with a black interior. This is a right-hand-drive, Japanese-spec sedan. The clutch, the flywheel, and both valve cover gaskets are among the parts replaced.Subaru released the first WRX in Japan in 1992. Offered as a sedan and a little later as a hatchback, the WRX (World Rally eXperimental) benefited from the lessons the Japanese firm learned while racing the Legacy in international rally events. Its turn to compete came after the Legacy's retirement, and an overall victory in the 1995 World Rally Championship tremendously boosted sales and Subaru's image around the world, but the original WRX was never sold in the United States.Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-4, rated at 240 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque in stock form. The modifications might increase those figures, but a dyno sheet is not available. Part of the long-running "EJ" family of engines, it spins the four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and Subaru's permanent all-wheel-drive system.
