2012 Porsche Boxster Spyder, finished in Carrara White with a Carrera Red leather interior. Over $35,000 in optional equipment was selected for this 987. Appearance-focused highlights include deviated seat, door, and dash stitching, a SportDesign steering wheel, a body-colored roll bar, and Porsche crest embossed headrests. Performance and convenience-focused features include the Sport Chrono Plus package and ceramic composite brakes, as well as automatic climate control, the Sound Package Plus, and PCM with navigation capabilities. The full build sheet is available in the gallery.Modifications to this Boxster are limited to black Alcantara inserts on the seats, although the selling dealer states that the red inserts are included in the sale.The Boxster Spyder debuted for the 2011 model year as a light-weight, performance-focused variant of the 987.2 Boxster S. Spyder models feature a manual canvas soft top, an aluminum rear deck and side doors, and lightweight 19-inch sport design wheels. Together with other weight-saving modifications, including a smaller gas tank and carbon fiber-backed seats, these modifications reportedly save 178 pounds compared to a comparably equipped Boxster S. Spyder models also featured a lowered ride height (.9 inches) and a stiffer suspension. Spyder models also feature an additional 10 horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque, compared to Boxster S models. 987.2 Spyder models are powered by a 3.4 liter flat-6, which produces 320 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
