It wore a relatively subtle design, but it offered enthusiasts a powerful turbocharged engine, correspondingly big brakes, and all-wheel-drive. It received rave reviews from the press when it landed in America for the 2000 model year in both sedan and wagon form.Power comes from a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, rated at 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque in stock form. According to APR, the Stage 3 Turbo upgrades increase those figures to 485 horsepower and 498 lb-ft of torque on 104 octane fuel, but a dyno sheet for this specific S4 was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system.
