Shaped like the box it came in, it remained an unapologetically basic off-roader built for extremely demanding terrain, but it gained an available turbodiesel engine that made it more capable on the pavement. England's favorite workhorse remained in production with minor but regular updates until regulations killed it off in 2016. Few were sold new in America, and none were sent here with a turbodiesel engine.Power comes from a 2.5-liter "300Tdi" turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine, rated at approximately 111 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. It spins the four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
