It became an instant success, thanks in part to its rally-inspired handling and its turbocharged engine.Power comes from a highly modified turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-4 engine, rated at 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque in stock form. Due to the modifications, this STI reportedly makes 480 horsepower at the wheels, however a dyno reading has not been provided. Output is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system.
