2003 Land Rover Discovery S, finished in Java Black with an Alpaca Beige vinyl interior. The odometer currently displays approximately 88,800 miles. Several modifications have been added to this Discovery for off-road use including a steel front bumper featuring recovery shackles, a full-length roof basket, a rear step ladder, oversize all-terrain tires, and xenon low-beam headlights. A recent service included the replacement of the valve cover gaskets, water pump, spark plugs and wires, and ABS shuttle valve.The Discovery was revamped for the 2003 model year with Range Rover-style headlights, Duragrain vinyl upholstery, and a 4.6-liter V8 that offered more power than in prior years. Three trim levels were offered in the US, and only the base S was available without leak-prone dual sunroofs. Power comes from a 4.6-liter V8, which produces 217 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and a full-time 2-speed transfer case.
