2006 Chevrolet Silverado SS, finished in Black Onyx with a Charcoal interior. Factory equipment includes 20-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension system, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a Bose sound system. The seller reports no modifications.Chevrolet returned to the sport truck segment after a long hiatus when it launched the Silverado SS for 2003. Based on the half-ton 1500 model, the SS offered drivers hot-rod ingredients (like a mighty V8, bigger brakes, and a revised suspension system) in a truck package. It was only offered with four-wheel drive at launch; rear-wheel drive was added later in the production run. The Silverado SS retired without a direct successor in 2006.The limited-edition Intimidator model arrived for 2006 as a tribute to Dale Earnhardt. It gained specific emblems inside and out and a rear spoiler, among other visual changes, and it was exclusively offered in Black Onyx. Chevrolet planned to make 1,033 units but production ended after 933 trucks were built. This particular SS is number 496, and its certificate of authenticity is pictured in the gallery.Power comes from a 6.0-liter "Vortec" V8, rated at 345 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Called "LQ9" internally, it spins the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
