Unmodified, this WRX STI came from the factory equipped with 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes, a driver-controlled center differential, two-tone sport seats, a turbo boost gauge, air conditioning, and more as detailed below. Recent maintenance has included a timing belt service, and the car passed a California emissions inspection. The 2nd-generation Impreza made its debut for the 2001 model year, and it spawned the first WRX sold on the American market. Like the standard Impreza, the WRX was offered as a sedan and as a station wagon.The WRX (World Rally eXperimental) STI gained rally-bred upgrades, including a more powerful engine, a firmer suspension, front and rear limited-slip differentials, and a more muscular design characterized by a functional hood scoop and a rear wing. It became an instant success, thanks in part to its rally-inspired handling and its turbocharged engine.Power for this STI comes from an "EJ25" 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-4 engine, which produces 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The engine spins all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
