Finished in Bianco Fuji with a Nero leather and Nero Competizione Technocloth interior with Bianco GranSport piping. Modifications made to this GranSport are limited to 19-inch Niche alloy wheels, a carbon fiber-look front splitter with spacer, gloss black painted badges, Tricolore stripes on the mirrors, and an Alpine head unit.Introduced for the 2002 model year, the Coupe was one of the cars that spearheaded Maserati's return to the American market after a decade-long hiatus, and it spawned the sportier GranSport for the 2005 model year. Upgrades included a more powerful engine bolted to a gearbox programmed to deliver quicker shifts, a revised suspension system, a model-specific design characterized by a larger grille, a sport exhaust system, and sport seats for the front passengers. The GranSport model also features unique bumper, rear diffuser, side sill, and rear spoiler designs.According to Maserati, only 2,640 GranSports were sold globally between 2004 and 2007.Power comes from a Ferrari-derived 4.2-liter V8, which produces 395 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. It spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed F1-style automatic transmission linked to steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles.
