It made a huge leap in horsepower and torque over its predecessor — and its rivals — thanks to the arrival of a new supercharged V8.Power comes from a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter "M113K" V8 that was hand-built by a single technician, whose signature appears on the engine cover. It produces 469 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque and spins the rear wheels via a 2005-model "Speedshift" 5-speed automatic transmission.This particular E55 AMG was first sold on Cars & Bids in February 2021, but suffered a transmission failure shortly after the new owner took delivery. The seller unwound the deal and has since had the transmission professionally refurbished, as described in the first video below, with repair records also shown in the photo gallery.
