Most were equipped with an inline-5 engine, but the Alpha version was powered by a much larger V8 engine. The Alpha also received a higher-quality interior and other niceties to further justify the $8,565 increase in cost over the base H3.Power comes from a 5.3-liter V8, rated at 300 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all 4 wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
