1997 Stewart & Stevenson M1087 FMTV, finished in camouflage with a green interior. This truck was built for the United states Army. It's street-legal,it's registered as a motorhome. Originally configured as a command center with expandable side panels, this M1087 was converted into an RV with extra insulation, flooring, a 60-gallon fresh water tank, a stainless-steel shower, a Vitrifrigo DRW180 refrigerator and freezer unit, a Sony X750H 55-inch 4K Ultra HD LED television, a king-sized memory foam mattress on a lift system, a cassette toilet, roof-mounted solar panels, Guangzhou Felicity Solar Technology LiFePO4 battery packs, and a weBoost cell signal booster, among numerous other modifications. These trucks trace their roots to the 12M18 built by Austria's Steyr, though several modifications were made for American military use. Stewart & Stevenson quoted approach and departure angles of 40 and 22 degrees, respectively, and a 21,000-pound towing capacity.Power comes from a 6.6-liter Caterpillar 3116 straight-6 turbodiesel engine, rated at about 290 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. Also found in construction and mining trucks, among other vehicles, the engine spins the six wheels via a 7-speed Allison automatic transmission.
