1994 AM General M998, finished in black with a black interior. Also known as the Humvee, this M998 was built for the United States Army later sold for private use. It's street-legal. This Humvee retains military-spec equipment including the front brush guard, roof rack, removable doors and soft top, and front and rear airlift hooks. Modifications made to this M998 include a four-speed GM transmission, increasing top speed to over 65 mph, GPS-based speedometer, new wheels and tires, new leather seats in all four positions, a Sparco steering wheel, Bluetooth audio, and more as detailed below.AM General developed the M998 as a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) for the American Army. Production started in 1984, and the M998 made its combat debut when the United States invaded Panama in 1989; it then rose to prominence as a symbol of our armed forces during the Gulf War in 1991. Arnold Schwarzenegger famously drove one of the first civilian M998s after paying a Michigan shop to make it street-legal, and the truck's unexpected popularity convinced executives to launch the Hummer in 1992.Power comes from a 6.5-liter diesel V8, rated at 165 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. It spins the 4 wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and portal axles. Built to tackle some of the toughest terrain on the planet, the M998 has a 54-degree approach angle, a 38-degree departure angle, and the ability to drive through 30 inches of water.
