2016 Chevrolet SS, finished in Phantom Black with a Jet Black leather interior. The original window sticker included in the gallery notes this SS is equipped with Brembo brakes, a sport suspension, a dual-mode exhaust, leather upholstery, plus heated and cooled front seats, among other equipment. Released as a captive import of the Holden Commodore, the Chevrolet SS is the spiritual successor of the Pontiac G8. When it came out in 2014, the SS was the first rear-wheel drive, V8-powered Chevy sedan available in the United States since the "B-Body" Caprice and Impala SS were discontinued in 1996. With modern trends going in favor of forced induction, the Chevrolet SS represents one of the last "old-school" performance sedans.Chevrolet gave the SS a minor face-lift for 2016, which brought revised front-end lighting, a dual-mode exhaust, red Brembo brake calipers, and an updated wheel design.Approximately 12,906 units of the SS were sent to the United States between the 2014 and the 2017 model years, though a handful were left-overs sold in 2018.Power for this SS comes from a 6.2-liter "LS3" V8, which produces 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. It spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
