2016 Volkswagen GTI SE, finished in Deep Black Pearl Metallic with a Titan Black interior. The Mark 7 Golf was introduced in 2012 on the automaker's new modular "MQB" platform, although U.S.-market sales didn't begin until the 2015 model year. The GTI lineup consisted of three models for 2016 — S, SE, and Autobahn. Praised as the quintessential hot hatch, it was bigger in every direction than its predecessor, so it offered a more spacious cabin, yet it was also about 80 pounds lighter.Power comes from an “EA888” 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, rated at 210 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque in stock form. Equilibrium Tuning claims that its stage 2 ECU tune with an aftermarket downpipe and a high-pressure fuel pump can increase those figures to 331 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on 91 octane and 372 horsepower and 437 lb-ft of torque on E30 fuel, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
