It was the smallest and cheapest member of the company's line-up, but it nonetheless offered a wide selection of features and the comfort buyers expected from a Mercedes-Benz. 4- and 6-cylinder models were available until the 190 retired in 1993. It was replaced by the original C-Class.Power for this 190E comes from a 2.6-liter 6-cylinder engine, rated at 158 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Called "M103" internally, output is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
