For the 2008 model year, the Cayenne received a substantial update. The Turbo model's engine displacement increased from 4.5 to 4.8 liters and Porsche's VarioCam Plus variable valve timing and lift was added, resulting in an increase of 50 horsepower and 59 lb-ft of torque. The factory 0-to-60 time was 4.9 seconds.Power comes from a 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged and intercooled V8, rated at 500 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
