1987 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4, finished in red with a gray cloth interior. This engine received a new cylinder head, timing chain, oil pump, water pump, and thermostat in November 2019. The first-generation 1984 through 1989 Toyota 4Runner was derived from the Hilux pickup and is famously long-lived. It was sold exclusively as a two-door, and the rear half of the roof is removable. Available engines were the "22R"/"22RE" inline-4, a "22R-TE" turbo-four, and a 3.0-liter V6, paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. This 1987 model 4Runner features running changes that include fuel injection and an independent front suspension. The "22RE" fuel-injected 4-cylinder engine was rated at 116 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a "W56" 5-speed manual transmission and 4-wheel drive with locking hubs.
