The original window sticker shown in the gallery reveals this SL cost $52,300 new, which represents nearly $125,000 in 2020. Unmodified, it's equipped with a black soft top, a body-colored hardtop with a heated rear window, power-operated windows, automatic air conditioning, and a Becker Grand Prix cassette player, among other features.Although service records are not available, the Carfax report lists some of the maintenance and repairs performed on this SL since it was new. It notes that the front and rear brake pads were replaced in March 2019, and that the vacuum system was serviced in July 2020. Mercedes-Benz introduced the R107-generation SL for the 1972 model year, and the roadster remained part of its range through 1991. It received several visual and mechanical updates during its unusually long production run. Launched for 1986, the 560 SL was the ultimate mechanical evolution of the regular-production R107.Power for this SL comes from a 5.5-liter V8, which produces 238 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque. It spins the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
