Finished in black with a green interior. Also known as the Humvee, this M998 was built for the United States Army and decommissioned in 2017. It's street-legal. The Modification Work Order (MWO) tag in the driver's door jamb suggests this M998 received a round of updates in August 2002, though no details are available. Modifications made to this M998 include flat black paint, a spray-on bedliner, a KC C-Series 50-inch light bar on a Predator mount, and a removable center console with 4 cup holders. AM General developed the M998 as a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) for the American Army. Production started in 1984, and the M998 made its combat debut when the United States invaded Panama in 1989; it then rose to prominence as a symbol of our armed forces during the Gulf War in 1991. Arnold Schwarzenegger famously drove one of the first civilian M998s after paying a Michigan shop to make it street-legal, and the truck's unexpected popularity convinced executives to launch the Hummer in 1992. Power comes from a 6.5-liter diesel V8, rated at 165 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. It spins the 4 wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission and portal axles.
