This car's window sticker is pictured in the gallery, and modifications reported by the seller are limited to a protection plate under the engine belts, PNM Parts straight exhaust tips instead of the factory muffler, and an Aiwa CD player. An invoice shown in the gallery notes that this Esprit's transmission was overhauled in December 2020.Lotus released the Esprit in 1976 and made numerous design and mechanical updates to the model over the next 28 years. Peter Stevens gave it a less angular exterior design in 1988, power steering became standard in 1994, and the 1997 model year brought a twin-turbocharged V8 (the first in the Esprit's history) designed in-house. Production ended in 2004 and only a small handful were sold in America.Power comes from a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 350 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Mid-mounted, it spins the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
