Factory equipment includes 17-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler, removable glass and body-colored roof panels, leather upholstery, and air conditioning. Peter Stevens gave it a less angular exterior design in 1988, power steering became standard in 1994, and the 1997 model year brought a twin-turbocharged V8 (the first in the Esprit's history) designed in-house. Production ended in 2004 and only a small handful were sold in America.Power comes from a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 350 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Mid-mounted, it spins the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
