Modifications are limited to the addition of an Eonon infotainment system, a wooden shift knob, aftermarket facelift-style headlights, and a roof basket with light bars.Introduced for the 2000 model year, the "E53" X5 was the first SUV produced by BMW in the company's history. During the development period, BMW had purchased Land Rover and used some of the technology and part designs in the construction of the X5. X5s were also assembled at BMW's facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where the X3, X4, X5, X6, and X7 are currently built.Power comes from an "M54" 3.0-liter inline-6 engine, which produces 225 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. It delivers power to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
