Product Details

1996 Toyota Mega Cruiser, finished in white with a gray interior .This is a left-hand-drive SUV. it's equipped with a metric instrument cluster and its odometer displays about 90,900 kilometers, which represents around 56,500 miles.Doug DeMuro recently reviewed this Mega Cruiser and his video is viewable below.Factory equipment includes 17.5-inch wheels, portal axles, locking front, center, and rear differentials, a four-wheel steering system, a rear-mounted ladder, and a folding rear step. This Mega Cruiser has been converted from right-hand-drive to left-hand-drive. The list of modifications reported by the seller also includes a fuel system pre-heating kit, a parking pole, a Gamiviti roof rack, wood interior trim, heated front and rear seats, LED interior lighting, and a trunk-mounted subwoofer.Like the Hummer H1, the Toyota Mega Cruiser started life as a tough, go-anywhere off-roader designed for military use. Toyota launched a civilian model, called "BXD20" internally, in 1996 and marketed it as its flagship SUV. Buyers got what they paid for: big enough to dwarf a Land Cruiser, the aptly-named Mega Cruiser featured portal axles, locking differentials, a four-wheel steering system, and a cavernous interior. Production ended in 2001 and most historians agree fewer than 150 civilian units were built.Power comes from a 4.1-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine, rated at about 155 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque. Called "15B-FT" internally, it spins the four wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
