Called TJ internally, it also ushered in a more road-friendly suspension system with coil instead of leaf springs, but it lost none of its predecessor's famed off-road capability. Production ended in 2006.Power comes from a 4.0-liter straight-6, which produces 190 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque. Known for its longevity, the engine spins the rear or the 4 wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission, a part-time 4-wheel-drive system, and a 2-speed transfer case.
